WINK – India’s first ebook reader

Bangalore based EC Media launched WINK, India’s first ebook reader. This device is for reading ebooks from a local electronic storage.

Wink XTS model will be available in market from 1st September.

In its features list:

  • It has a 6 inch screen with e-ink technology, which gives ebook’s emulated view like its printed version (hardcopy).
  • E-ink display is very efficient display in terms of power consumption.
  • No Backlit support, so it requires external light source for reading any ebook.
  • This device is just 11 mm thin and very light weights like Sidney Sheldon novel.
  • It has 1500 mAh battery with 300 hours continues reading time.
  • It has 2GB internal/ builtin memory and has an external SD card slot for memory expansion.
  • It also supports 3.5 mm ear phone jack and a miniUSB port.
  • You can transfer eBooks and mp3 from your computer to wink via miniUSB port.
  • XTS model supports wifi / X3G model supports 3G and wifi.
  • It supports all popular document formats like PDF, DOC HTML, RTF and TXT.
  • It has built-in mail client for sending and receiving emails.

Wink is not very user-friendly; you cannot type text in your regular speed because of its QWERTY keys design.

Cost of Wink X3G 15,000 RS.
