What is NIMCET?
NIMCET is a NIT MCA Common Entrance Test. It is a popular MCA entrance exam for admission in National Institute of Technology(NIT). The National institute of technology are top technical institutes in India. They are premier institutes for engineering and technical studies in India. It is a common test for admission in Master of Computer Application(MCA) programme.
NIMCET Eligibility Criteria
Indian Nationals securing at least 60% marks aggregate or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% marks or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC, ST category) in
(i) BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time;
(ii) B E / B Tech or equivalent ;
from a recognized University are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2013
Candidates who are appearing for final year are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2013 but they shall have to furnish proof of appearing in final year at the time of counseling/admission before 15th September 2013.
Students who have completed/completing degree BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

MCA programme runs in 11 NITs. They are NIT Agartala, NIT Allahabad, NIT Bhopal, NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Raipur, NIT Surathkal, NIT Tiruchirappalli and NIT Warangal. Best is NIT Tiruchirappalli in NIT ranking for MCA.

How to apply for NIMCET?
Students can apply for NIMCET 2013 through ‘Online‘ only. Application can be submitted online by accessing the website http://nimcet2013.nitw.ac.in.
NIMCET Test Pattern
NIMCET 2013 question paper will contain 120 multiple choice questions with following subjects.
1. Mathematics 50 questions
2. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning 40 questions
3. Computer Awareness 10 questions
4. General English 20 questions
NIMCET Exam Duration: 2 hours(120 minutes)
Note: Each correctly answered question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to NEGATIVE ONE mark.

Exam Test Centers
NIMCET 2013 results will declare on Tuesday, 11th June, 2013.[Tentatively]
NIMCET Merit List and Rankings
Candidates will be awarded with NIMCET-2013 rank on or after result declaration. They have to take print out of their rank card made available in the NIMCET website. Candidates who got rank can login and fill the choices of participating institutes in their order of preference between 17-06-2013 and 24-06-2013. NIMCET-2013 Seat allotment and counseling will done through online only.
