The NIMCET is National Level Entrance Test conducted by NITs for admission to their MCA program. The admission to first year of MCA program offered by 11 NITs will be based on the rank obtained in NIMCET-14. Master of Computer Application(MCA) program is conduct by 11 National Institute of Technology(NIT). These NIT are Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal. Admission into MCA programme in the all 11 participating NITs is based only on NIMCET-2014 rank.
Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC/ST) in
(i) BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time
(ii) B E / B Tech or equivalent
from a recognized University are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2014.
Final year students are also eligible but they shall have to give proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the head of institution where the candidate has studied) of they are studying in final year.
Students who have completed/completing degree BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.
MODE OF EXAMINATION
The duration of NIMCET-2014 examination will be for a period of two hours and will consist of
120 multiple choice questions with four choices for each question. Each correctly answered
question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to
NEGATIVE ONE mark. The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheets at the time of examination. Candidates have to bring their own HB pencil, eraser and black
ball point pen.
Calculators, mobile phones or any other material shall not be allowed in
the examination hall. The examination is conducted in Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English.
DISTRIBUTION OF QUESTIONS
The question paper will contain 120 multiple choice questions covering the following topics:
1. Mathematics 50 questions
2. Analytical Ability Logical Reasoning 40 questions
3. Computer Awareness 10 questions
4. General English 20 questions

SEAT MATRIX IN 11 NIT INSTITUTES
NIMCET 2014 conducts for admission on 867 MCA seats in all 11 NITs. In among the All India India seats, there is no separate state-wise quota. Reservations of SC, ST, OBC and PD(Physical Disability) according to Government of India Rules.
