Common Admission Test(CAT 2012) will be conduct for admission in IIMs(Indian Institute of Management) and some non IIM institutes which use CAT score card. CAT 2012 online exam will be organized in between 20 days duration from 22 October 2011 to 18 November 2011. In Year 2012 there are 13 IIMs will be take admission through CAT 2012. These 13 IIMs are IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kashipur, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Shillong, IIM Tiruchirappalli and IIM Udaipur.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree, with 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA[45% for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA), PWD category applicants]. Applicants appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2012.

CAT 2012 Reservation Criteria

15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes(SC) and 7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe(ST), 27% for OBC candidates belonging to Non-Creamy layer and 3% seats are reserved for Differently Abled (DA), PWD candidates.

CAT Exam Form Voucher price – Rs. 1600/-(800/- for SC/ST candidates)
Sc/ST candidates must show a copy of SC/ST certificates at the time of obtaining the CAT2012 voucher form.

Online Registration for CAT 2012

After Purchasing voucher, candidates must log on to the Website: www.catiim.in for online registration of CAT.
CAT 2012 online Registration will start from Wednesday, 17 August 2011 and will close on Wednesday, 28 September 2011.

CAT 2012 Result and Score Card

Tentative Result Date of CAT 2012 : Wednesday 11 January 2012
score card is valid till December 31, 2012.
CAT 2012 score card is valid for 13 Indian Institute of Management(IIM) and other non IIM member institutions which use CAT score card for admission.

Admission Process for IIMs

After result declared shortlisted candidates list will be prepared and it will available on all IIM websites. Each IIM will send interview letters to the candidates it has short-listed.
After shortlisting of candidates the process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in CAT2012 examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may use previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience etc.
